I’ve tried a lot of alternatives in the past, resting it on a strategically-placed chair, stowing it in my uni, or using an arm-band. My iPod inevitably fell off the chair, malfunctioned after getting sweated on in the uni, and just got in my way with the arm band! The iErg is a great compromise that allows for quick and easy setup as well as protection for your expensive electronics. The iErg is also made of an easy-to-clean-and-won't-smell-funky marine material that is easy to rinse off.”

“A few weeks ago, while reading the Union Boat Club of Boston’s email listserv, I saw a fellow member recommend a solution called the iErg. This is a fabric cover that fits over the rolling seat of my Concept 2 erg, with a side pocket for the iPod. Brilliant. Ten minutes later I had PayPal-ed an order and within a week it arrived.  Perfect solution. I strongly recommend it. And I paid $25 for it, just so you know I am not blowing blogola/pay-per-post b.s.”

“It keeps your iPod clean, safe and dry. Even an armband iPod holder will allow sweat and moisture to build up on them and that can just ruin an iPod. I have seen people stick their iPods down the back of their unis or the front of their shorts and erg with them. You might as well just run it under the water fountain. Having the iErg saves you that uncomfortable feeling of having your iPod slide further and further down the back of your uni or shorts....If I were a coach and I wanted to silence the erg room and stop the bickering about the music I would order one of these for each erg.”
